Some Travel agents work on commissions only and some Travel agents work for a company in an office and may get paid an hourly salary.

Most Travel agents however get paid based on commission and are paid by the hotel or motel or company they would for once the person has paid for the hotel, flight etc.

Travel agents typically just book the hotel for you and then you pay the hotel yourself when you arrive or you then pay through an invoice that the travel agent sends you.

Travel agencies sell rooms per night on behalf of the hotels in their business portfolio, while also providing a valuable service to their hospitality partners.

Commission is then made through the use of manual invoicing, before the payment is then processed by the bank and placed into company accounts.
