Is it normal for a 7 year old to wet their pants?

It's normal for a 7 year old to wet their pants on occasion.

However if the 7 year old constantly wets his or her pants then they may have a bladder issue that needs to be checked out by a doctor.

It's not normal for a 7 year old child to wet their pants all the time but it's normal for the 7 year old to occasionally wet their pants.

If they have trouble with wetting their pants then they should wear a diaper if they wet their pants a lot to keep their pants dry and then find out what the problem is.

The 7 year old could be wetting the bed all of a sudden due to stress, emotional reasons, drinking too much before bed, having nightmares or something could be upsetting them.

The 7 year old could also have a bladder infection or UTI but most times it's nothing to worry about when a 7 year old child wets the bed.

7 year olds pee the bed for a variety of reasons.

Sometimes 7 year olds have a weak bladder or the bladder is not growing as fast as the 7 year old.

Other causes of an 7 year old wetting the bed are being cold, having nightmares, bad dreams, being stressed or just a natural part of growing.

It's not usually anything to worry about when the kid is wetting the bed even at 7 years old.

To keep the 7 year old dry you should have them wear some pull ups or Goodnites or diapers.

Diapers would be much better as they are more absorbent and less prone to leak.

There are medications the 7 year old can take to slow urine production but personally I would avoid medications and just allow the child to grow out of the bed wetting.

It's normal to wet the bed as a kid and even up until 17 to 18 years of age.

They could wear pull ups but from my experience pull ups leak especially on heavy wetters at night.

But diapers hold the pee in much better.

It's normal for kids to continue to wet the bed even until they are 17 to 18 years old.

I personally wet the bed myself up until age 17 and then I finally quit.

I wish I had diapers for the bed wetting at the time as waking up in wet sheets and clothes every morning did not feel good at all.

Hi 30QuoVadis, if it's a current thing of bedwetting then put a diaper on them BUT during the day, it could be a pee-load of choices. Linda had idea about taking the 7 yr old to his doctor wearing diapers he and you don't get embarrassed, usually that will help.

Now if you 7 yr old is doing this on purpose this is what you can do. Make a game out of, give him a choice underwear or diapers, if he chooses diapers then when you take him to school explain to the nurse he's having accidents at home, please change him when he needs it. He may want to be a baby, especially if you have a new baby in the house. If that's the case, treat him like you would if he's a new born. As silly as a must, it's probably what he wants cause he misses his babyhood. Email me to see if that's want he wants!!
