Medications that can cause eye floaters include Benadryl (for allergies), Cardizem (heart disease), Elavil (depression) and Xanax (anxiety).

If you notice a sudden increase in eye floaters, contact an eye specialist immediately especially if you also see light flashes or lose your peripheral vision.

These can be symptoms of an emergency that requires prompt attention.

If your vision has gone blurry all of a sudden it could be caused by medications, getting up to quickly, having low blood pressure, being dehydrated, heat stroke or a problem with any of the components of your eye, such as the cornea, retina, or optic nerve.

Most cases of blurred vision go away within a few minutes but if not or the blurred vision gets worse then get medical attention.

Sudden blurry vision is usually a medical emergency that should be treated as soon as possible to prevent vision loss and permanent damage.
