A 5 panel drug test is a drug test that tests for five common illicit drugs including marijuana, opiates, PCP, cocaine, and amphetamines.

The drug test specimen from the 5 panel drug test is sent to a SAMHSA-certified laboratory for analysis and results are reviewed by a Medical Review Officer (MRO).

The drugs that show up on a 5 panel drug test include.

Amphetamines.
Cocaine Metabolites.
Marijuana Metabolites (THC)
Opiates.
Phencyclidine (PCP)

The main difference between 5-panel and 10-panel drug tests is the number of drugs they test for.

Therefore, the 5-panel drug test can detect the five most illicit substances, while the 10-panel spot ten different illegal substances in the patient's body.

The standard 5-panel drug screening urine test is the most common and is routinely utilized by private employers, as well as government agencies, since it tests for the 5 most habitually abused substances: Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, PCP and Amphetamines/Methamphetamines.

Following a negative result: If your test results are negative for drugs, it is common for a medical review officer (MRO) to contact your employer with the results.

Your employer will then typically contact you regarding next steps of the hiring process.

It tests for pretty much everything a regular person might use marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and Phencyclidine (PCP). It’s one of the most effective ways of testing because it can detect the listed substances up to 90 days after use, compared to 4-7 days after use with a regular urine test. That’s why cheating in such a test is heavier if you want to. It’s still a urine test, and you can click to read about how you can cheat.
Spoiler: the simplest method is the use of synthetic urine because it doesn’t involve a harsh detox. But you must be cautious and ensure nobody notices you pouring this substance instead of your urine.
