Virtually all roses are edible and can be eaten but you should only eat the petals of the roses.

Common roses that are edible include Prickly Wild Rose, Multiflora Rose, Ausmas Rose, Dog Rose, Golden Celebration and the Beach Rose.

Garden Flowers that are edible include dandelions, honeysuckle, Alliums. Chives, leeks and garlic, Marigolds, Nasturtiums, Pansies and Johnny jump-ups, Calendula, Anise hyssop, Scarlet runner beans and even Orchids.

Like most edible flowers, orchid blooms are rich in vitamin C, boosting your immune system and helping stave off infections.

They are also rich in fiber and essential minerals like iron, calcium, and potassium.

Moreover, they are an excellent source of antioxidants and phytochemicals.

The blooms of all orchids are considered safe for consumption, but some species can irritate the stomach.

The vanilla bean or pod is considered the world's only edible fruit-bearing orchid.

The genus Dendrobia is also commonly used as a food ingredient and garnish.

Orchidaceae, commonly called the orchid family, is a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants, with blooms that are often colorful and fragrant.

Along with the Asteraceae, they are one of the two largest families of flowering plants.

Orchid flowers are monosymmetrical.

This means that both halves of the flower mirror each other.

One special attribute of the orchid flower is that the female parts are fused to the so called column and the male parts are fused together to a pollinarium that sits protected under the anther cap.
