An animal that is mostly bulletproof is an Armadillo.

Armadillos have a very tough shell that is hard to penetrate with a bullet.

Other animals that are partially bulletproof include Hippos, Elephants, Rhinos, Polar and Grizzly bears, Moose, Buffalo.

Rhinos are not bulletproof although they can take a bullet and may not be harmed.

But still rhinos can be shot and killed or injured.

So the rhino is not completely bulletproof.

The collagenous dermis of the white rhinoceros forms a thick, protective armour that is highly specialized in its structure and material properties compared with other mammalian skin.

In compression, rhinoceros skin withstands average stresses and strains of 170 MPa and 0.7, respectively, before yielding.

A rhinos skin is around 1.5 – 5 centimetres thick and is formed from layers of collagen (the main protein of connective tissue in animals and the most abundant protein in mammals), positioned in a lattice structure (crisscrossed framework).

In the wild, the adult black or white rhino has no predators except for humans.

Rhinos are hunted and killed for their horns.

Rhinos are intelligent, social, emotional animals that are a vital part of Africa's tourism industry and its legacy.

The remaining five species of rhinoceros are all listed on the IUCN's Red List of threatened species.

Three of them are listed as critically endangered.
