When you're in a collision you need to stop and assess the situation.

Call 911 and get the police to the scene and if needed an ambulance as well.

Also if the other driver in the other car is able to exchange information then you should exchange information with each other.

You should exchange insurance information, drivers license information, addresses etc.

You should not ever leave the scene of an accident unless you have no choice to do so to get help.

If you're involved in a collision and do not stop the consequences are usually jail or prison time, loss or suspension of drivers license and even a fine of $5,000.00 or more.

Failing to stop at an accident is a crime.

If you are unable to show proof of financial responsibility when involved in an accident your vehicle may be towed and your license is likely to be suspended.

If a motorist is caught driving without auto insurance they're in violation of the Financial Responsibility Act and they'll receive an FRA suspension, also known as a financial responsibility law suspension or random selection suspension.

The consequences of not stopping if you are involved in an accident are fines as well as jail and or prison time and even loss of your license.

The consequences of not stopping when involved in an accident are jail time, fines and even the possibility of losing your license.

When you get into an accident and don't stop and take off then you're gonna be charged with a Hit and Run.

When the police find you for the hit and run they will arrest you and a warrant for your arrest can be put out.

Prison or jail time is possible with hit and run crimes, especially in those that result in serious injury, property damage, or death.

A misdemeanor conviction can result in up to a year in jail, while felony convictions can result in a 10 year prison sentence, or longer. Fines.

Penalties for leaving the scene of an accident include fines and jail time and may be classified as either misdemeanors or felonies.

Typically, felony hit and run occurs when a driver leaves the scene of an accident in which a driver or pedestrian has been injured.

A hit-and-run is a crime that has to do with the aftermath of an accident rather than its cause.

The typical elements of a hit and run are a driver who was involved in a car crash failing to: stop at the scene of the collision.

Generally speaking, a hit and run occurs when you're involved in a car accident (either with a pedestrian, another car, or a fixed object) and then leaving the scene without stopping to identify yourself or render aid to anyone who might need assistance.

Leaving the scene of an accident is considered a criminal offense that can result in a penalty point endorsement, an unlimited fine, disqualification from driving or even imprisonment.

This process often enables the police to identify, locate and arrest the suspect for leaving the scene of the accident.
