Turtles do make noises although turtles don't have vocal cords so they don't make sounds like other animals.

Turtles don't have vocal cords, so all sounds the turtle would make comes from air squeezing from their lungs and out of their throat. T

his can produce an array of sounds ranging from hisses, croaks, grunts, honks, moans, or even squeals.

All turtles can make a hissing sound.

Similar to other creatures, turtles make noises when they are stressed, angry, and aggressive.

In these instances, turtles have been found to make hissing noises to warn predators and bystanders when they feel threatened.

While turtles don't have vocal cords, they are still capable of producing a wide range of noises and sounds.

Turtles communicate with each other and even express emotions such as fear through sounds.

Some turtles cluck like chickens, hiss and even produce high-pitched whining sounds.

While turtles may not have vocal cords or external ears, they still communicate verbally.

This is quite impressive.

While there is little evidence of verbal communication among sea turtles, freshwater turtles and tortoises are known to communicate verbally all the time.

Turtles are an order of reptiles known as Testudines, characterized by a shell developed mainly from their ribs.

Modern turtles are divided into two major groups, the side-necked turtles and hidden neck turtles which differ in the way the head retracts.
