What are some low maintenance dogs?

I'm thinking about getting a small dog but I want one that is considered low maintenance?

For a low maintenance and easy to care for dog I would go with a chihuahua.

The chihuahua's are pretty small dogs and don't eat that much and are very easy to care for. They're also very good dogs to be around.
