You can throw up water.

if you drink water and your stomach is not feeling good then you can throw up the water you drink.

Although most commonly what some people think is water they are throwing up is actually a clear fluid or bile.

Vomiting clear liquid and stomach bile means there is nothing in your stomach to regurgitate.

This can happen because you've already thrown up all the food and fluid in your stomach, you've been drinking a lot of water, or you haven't eaten in a long time.

Clear vomit is also caused by: Gastric outlet obstruction. This occurs when your stomach is completely blocked by something like a tumor or ulcer.

When you have this type of obstruction, nothing you eat or drink can get through, including saliva or water.

Can you throw up water from not eating?

Yes. Not eating can make you feel nauseous.

This may be caused by a buildup of stomach acid or stomach contractions caused by hunger pangs.

Why would you throw up water?

Often, throwing up water is a sign of a stomach infection, caused by a bacteria, virus, or parasite.

Or it could be from food poisoning.

Morning sickness during pregnancy is another reason someone may vomit clear liquid.

Clear vomit can be from cancer chemotherapy and other drugs that can stimulate the vomiting center of the brain.
