To tell whether you have a cold or the flu look for the symptoms as the symptoms usually differ between the cold and flu virus.

With a cold virus you usually don't have any body aches or a fever while with a flu virus you usually have body aches, chills and sometimes a fever.

With a cold virus you usually just have a headache, runny nose, congestion, sore throat etc and you usually don't have the muscle aches, body aches, or a fever or sore throat.

The flu virus exists because it originally came from birds, pigs and other animals and then it infected humans and then began to spread.

The name "influenza" is derived from the Latin word for "influence," and the pathogens that cause this disease are RNA viruses from the family Orthomyxoviridae.

The genomes of all influenza viruses are composed of eight single-stranded RNA segments.

These RNAs are negative-sense molecules, meaning that they must be copied into positive-sense molecules in order to direct the production of proteins.

There are three basic types of influenza viruses: A, B, and C. Influenza B and C viruses only infect humans, so novel antigens are not introduced from other species.

Only influenza A viruses infect nonhuman hosts, and a reassortment of genes can occur between those subtypes that typically infect animals and those that infect humans, resulting in antigenic shift and potential pandemics.

Epidemics of seasonal influenza occur due to influenza A or B viruses.

The flu was created from birds and pigs which is where the flu originated from and then flu infected humans and then began to spread.

The flu virus originates, actually, among birds and other animals such as pigs, and new viral strains of influenza come to this country and to Europe from Southeast Asia.

The flu first began around the years of 1889 to 1892 which is when the first flu pandemic began.

The flu is caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs.

These viruses spread when people with flu cough, sneeze or talk, sending droplets with the virus into the air and potentially into the mouths or noses of people who are nearby.

The first person gets the flu through droplets that contain the virus that is spread through sneezing, coughing and from touching your face and touching other peoples hands, doorknobs etc.

Then it spreads to the next person and the next person through the same ways.

The flu virus also known as the Influenza is a virus that's spread from person to person.

The flu virus also originates, actually, among birds and other animals such as pigs, and new viral strains of influenza come to this country and to Europe from Southeast Asia.

That's the global pattern.

You can catch the flu virus from other people when someone near you coughs or sneezes.

Or, if you touch something the virus is on, like a phone or doorknob, and then touch your nose or mouth, you could catch the flu.

The flu virus can live on a surface like a book or doorknob for a number of hours.

When the flu is beginning you'll usually start having aches all over your body.

Body aches are usually the first sign that you're getting the flu.

Then you may get a sore throat and have other symptoms of the flu such as Fever, Chills, headaches, nausea, fatigue, flushing of the skin and coughing and Stuffy or runny nose.

Those are all common symptoms of the flu.

Before the flu starts setting in you should take some medicine to help with the symptoms of the flu and it's a good idea to get prescribed some Tamiflu from your doctor to help relieve the symptoms of the flu.

Other than that all you can do for the flu is to get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water and wait it out.

In a week or 10 days the flu should be gone.

When I have the flu I come down with the Symptoms Of The Flu such as Fever, Chills, Body Aches, Leg pain , back aches, running nose and Fever.

Your symptoms may vary and can depend on the severity and type of flu virus that is in your body.

But those are some of the symptoms of the flu that people will experience.

The flu is a common viral infection that can be deadly, especially in high-risk groups.

The flu attacks the lungs, nose, and throat.

Young children, older adults, pregnant women, and people with chronic disease or weak immune systems are at high risk.

Symptoms include fever, chills, muscle aches, cough, congestion, runny nose, headaches, and fatigue.

The flu is treated primarily with rest and fluid to let the body fight the infection on its own.

Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory pain relievers may help with symptoms.

An annual vaccine can help prevent the flu and limit its complications.
