Is Marriage a status symbol?

Do you believe that Marriage today is just used as a status symbol?

For some people it is.

My cousin got married and thinks he's a big shot for being married. He thinks it makes him a better person because he's married and I'm not.

That's okay though I don't want to get married anyway.
