The shortage of toilet paper is due to the pandemic and because people bought out the supplies of toilet paper in stores to hoard due to panic buying.

Also there was a shortage of workers for delivering the toilet paper, shortage of workers making the toilet paper and shortage of workers to make the supplies to make the toilet paper.

Now though the toilet paper shortage is not as severe just like the diaper shortage is easing up now and we're getting more supplies of diapers and toilet paper.

Charmin Toilet paper is made by Procter & Gamble who also makes soaps and even diapers such as pampers and luvs diapers.

The company Procter & Gamble gets about 33% of the pulp needed to make toilet paper as well as other hygiene products from Canada's boreal forest.

The product is manufactured in the United States.

The company's largest factory is located in Mehoopany, Pennsylvania.

The US does import some toilet paper from China.

However most toilet paper that is used in the USA is made in the USA.

However China does export some of it's brands of toilet paper to the USA.

But the majority of toilet paper made in China stays in China to be used and sometimes goes to other countries.

United States Imports from China of Toilet Paper, Towels, Similar Household, Sanitary Articles, of Paper was US$885.23 Million during 2020, according to the United Nations COMTRADE database on international trade.

Large paper companies such as Georgia-Pacific and Kimberly-Clark Company make popular brands like Quilted Northern, Angel Soft, Cottonelle and Scott bathroom tissues, and a majority of bathroom tissue is produced right here in America by members of the United Steelworkers (USW) union.

It's actually pretty hard to find made in China toilet paper in the USA but not entirely impossible.
