Can my natural gas be shut off in winter for non payment?

I've been only able to pay $100.00 a month of the $250.00 a month natural gas heating bills to heat my home.

The gas company sent me a shut off notice if the gas bill wasn't paid in full. Can the natural gas company shut my natural gas off for heating in the winter when I can only pay half of the bill?

In most states there's a cold weather rule that makes it illegal for a utility to shut services off such as natural gas and electric during the cold winter months.

You should contact your gas company but no they should not be able to shut off your natural gas until spring arrives.
