Is it okay to put baby bottles in a dishwasher to wash?

Are baby bottles dishwasher safe? Would it be okay to put my babies baby bottles into the dishwasher to clean them?

You can put baby bottles in the dishwasher but put them on the top rack.

My sister put some baby bottles on the bottom rack of a dishwasher and they fell over and got melted by the drying heating element.
