A 9 month old should have between 3 to 4 bottles of formula through the day.

Your 9 month old baby will let you know when they are hungry but if's been awhile since the last feeding it would be a good idea to try to get the baby to drink some formula.

However if they are not hungry they will push the bottle away.

Most times babies will let you know when they are hungry and let you know when they are full.

As your baby eats more solid foods, they may want less milk at each feed or even drop a milk feed altogether.'

If you're breastfeeding, your baby will adapt their feeds according to how much food they're having.

As a guide, formula-fed babies may need around 600ml of milk a day.

Although it's recommended for a 9 month old to still drink formula as part of their diet to keep them healthy and growing a 9 month old does not need the formula anymore as long as they are eating solid foods and are drinking some regular cows milk.

And in fact babies don't actually require formula but it's good for them.

Babies can drink evaporated milk mixed up in a bottle and be just fine as many babies were raised on Carnation Evaporated Milk before formula was available.

Between the ages of 9 months to 12 months of age is the safest scenario for running out of formula.

In fact, some children this age have already begun to wean themselves off of formula and prefer solids to a liquid diet.

They are beginning to transition to eating the foods they'll eat as toddlers.

A 9 month old baby can eat foods such as bananas, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, sliced pears, cut up hot dogs or hot dogs, hamburgers cut up in small pieces, cereal, baby cereal, bread, soft vegetables, peaches, watermelon, strawberries and cantaloupe.

A 9 month old baby can eat eggs.

When feeding a baby eggs they should be on solid foods and also it's best to begin introducing eggs to the baby in scrambled egg form first.

The scrambled eggs are better and easier for the baby to eat.

Another way to introduce your baby to eggs is to mix a small amount (¼ teaspoon), of hard-boiled egg or peanut butter/paste into your baby's usual food (such as vegetable puree).

Gradually increase the amount if your baby is not having any allergic reactions, for example ½ teaspoon the next time.

You can give your baby the entire egg (yolk and white).

Around 6 months, puree or mash one hard-boiled or scrambled egg and serve it to your baby.

Around 8 months, scrambled egg pieces are a fantastic finger food.

There are no guidelines regarding the maximum number of eggs for babies and children.

So, one a day is perfectly fine.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says that early exposure to eggs might help prevent food allergies in the future.

Whip up a soft omelette or scrambled eggs that Baby can gum.

Toast with spread.

Since bread can be chewy, pop it in the toaster for a firmer texture that doesn't stick to the roof of your baby's mouth.
