When your 5 year old keeps wetting himself at night it's a normal thing which is known as nocturnal enuresis or bed wetting.

A 5 year old who wets the bed is normal and it's usually just because the 5 year olds bladder is still small and weak yet.

Most times a kid will outgrow bed wetting by age 7 to 8 years old although some kids may continue wetting the bed until age 17.

Some adults even wet the bed too.

Bed Wetting can be caused by stress, weak bladder, small bladder, urinary tract infections, fear, insecurity and even neurological disorders.

Most kids are fully toilet trained by age 5, but there's really no target date for developing complete bladder control.

Between the ages of 5 and 7, bed-wetting remains a problem for some children.

After 7 years of age, a small number of children still wet the bed.

There are medications that can help slow urine production and even bed wetting alarms.

Another good option though is to have the child wear diapers or pull ups.

However if the child is a heavy wetter at night then regular diapers would be a better option.

Dollar General Gentle Steps size 7 diapers should fit a 5 year old and even 8 year old who wets the bed.

They are plain white mostly so they are not as babyish and they are very absorbent.
