If you need a diaper to wear while in the hospital it is okay to ask the nurse for a diaper and to ask the nurse to help put the diaper on you.
However if you're capable of putting the diaper on yourself then it's best to do the diapering yourself but a nurse will diaper you if needed.
However hospital adult diapers are really thin, flimsy and fall apart so you would want to bring your own thicker adult diapers.
