Yes I do feel uncomfortable being told I love you.

Especially by family that I hardly know and when I see them they tell me I love them and although I sorta like the family I don't really love them.

Love is a strong thing and not something I take lightly and I only love the people I really know even if they are family I will only love the family if I know them good enough and actually do love them.

Just because they are family does not mean you have to love them.

For example if you have a mom or dad that was abusive it's okay to hate those people even though they are your parents.

You should only love someone if they really truly are deserving of your love.

If a guy says these words, and you still can't say them back to him.
It is better to say thank you in return than to remain silent and create an awkward situation.

And if these words have been heard in the family since your childhood, why should it be uncomfortable? The love of parents and children is unconditional.
And I'm not talking about bad parents, aggression or abuse. I'm talking about the correct structure of the family and an example of love and respect for each other.
They don't love for something, they love just like that. When you start setting conditions or forcing people to deserve your love, it is no longer love. It is love as a prize or reward. True love must be unconditional.
