After a deep dental cleaning you should avoid using Listerine or other mouthwash until the gums have healed with takes around 7 days.

However you can resume your normal teeth brushing 24 hours after the deep dental cleaning.

It takes up to 7 days for your gums to heal after the deep dental cleaning.

During the healing of the gums after a deep dental cleaning it's normal to have some bleeding and swelling of the gums.

Your gums will begin to heal and form back to where they were and they seem like they are growing back but the gums are just healing.

The gums will begin to heal after the deep cleaning and will form back to near where they were before but gums do not actually grow back after they've been cut or have receded during surgery or deep cleaning.

The gums should heal though and be nearly back to normal within about 6 weeks but they won't be exactly like they were before you had the deep cleaning.

Gums are different from other tissue in the body that grows back and gums are one of the tissues that cannot really regenerate itself and grow back.

After your gums have been deep cleaned though the gums should begin to heal themselves and re-form the tight seal around your teeth within six to eight weeks.
