Swelling and a fever are signs that your tooth infection are spreading and if you do have swelling or a fever with a tooth infection then you need to see the dentist or go to the emergency room right away.

If you have tooth infection and have a fever and swelling in your face and you can't reach your dentist, go to an emergency room.

Also go to the emergency room if you have trouble breathing or swallowing as these tooth infection symptoms may indicate that the tooth infection has spread deeper into your jaw and surrounding tissue or even to other areas of your body.

Tooth infections can sometimes still spread while you're on antibiotics but it's rare that happens.

If you do have a tooth infection that's spreading when on antibiotics or anytime you need to see your dentist to stop the tooth infection from spreading further.
