Lois Lowry is the author of the youngsters. She is an author of more than 30 books which have a wide range of genres. In 1977 she published her first children’s book called ‘A Summer to Die’. The book was inspired by true events of how she lost her sister at a very young age. The book is classified under the Young Adult genre. Lois wanted to be a writer from a very young age. As a young girl she lived in her imaginary world, wrote short stories and poems. She wrote many books based on what she has experienced as a child. She also worked as a freelance journalist and a photographer.
Her readers range from school children to young adults. Some of Lois’ books are light-hearted and make for a nice read. There are other books that deal with dark and serious topics and issues.
