How Safe Is is to be an Uber Driver?

I'm currently laid off my job and was thinking about signing up to be an Uber Driver to earn money.

Is it safe to become an Uber Driver?

About the same as being a regular Taxi Driver. Anything can be dangerous. There have been a few murders that I've heard of but not very many.

Just driving the car is dangerous. I'd go and drive for Uber if I needed the money.
