When a burn still hurts you can apply some cool water to the burn and apply some soothing lotion to the burn to help ease the pain.

Also take some aspirin or other pain medicine which can help ease the pain of the burn.

The burn pain will eventually go away on it's own within 2 weeks or less and although the pain is usually sometimes unbearable it will go away and stop being painful.

The reason burns to the skin are so painful is the heat from the burning of the skin has destroyed skin cells.

A burn heals up like a cut heals up and a blister usually forms and under it, white blood cells arrive to attack the bacteria and a new layer of skin grows in from the edges of the burn.

Burn pain may last for a few days to as long as 1 to 2 weeks depending on how bad the burn is.

Most burn pain will start going away though within 2 to 4 days and then fully go away within a week or two but some burn pain may go away within a day or two if it's a less severe burn.

Burns usually heal within 1 week to 2 weeks if it's a less severe burn.

Longer burns may take a month or 2 months to fully heal after you get burned.

Some burns require medical treatment and other burns you just cool off the area and then wrap it in some gauze or allow it to breathe if it's not bleeding.

Applying some hydrogen peroxide to the burn can help keep bacteria and infections away and can also help promote healing of the burn.

The length of time it takes for a burn to heal depends on how severe the burn is.

For less severe burns the burn should heal within 2 to 4 weeks and it should scab over and the burn should feel better.

For more severe burns it may take a few months or even 6 months or so for the burn to fully heal and if it's a really severe burn it requires medical treatment for it to heal.

Some more severe burns can cause infection so you need a really severe burn to be treated by the doctor or hospital.

I've had small burns take a few weeks to start healing and then after 4 weeks the burn was healed up and no longer painful.
