The stage of a cold that sneezing is can be either the first stage of the cold virus or the last stage of the cold virus.

I usually start sneezing a few days before a cold virus comes on and then will sometimes sneeze again a few days before the cold virus goes away.

Sneezing can be a sign that a cold is coming on.

Sneezing can be a sign of allergies, dust, or a cold or flu virus beginning to infect your body.

Whenever I start sneezing during cold and flu season I know that a cold virus or the flu is about to come on and I continue sneezing for at least a few days afterwards.

If your cold virus is not going away it could be a cold that is leading to ear infections, asthma attacks, acute sinusitis, strep throat, pneumonia, and bronchitis.

If your cold is not going away after 14 days or the cold virus seems to get worse then go to a walk in clinic, urgent care center or the hospital to get checked out.

Colds rarely cause any serious health issues but sometimes they can.

When a cold virus is bacterial the bacterial cold virus will usually be accompanied by a fever, muscle aches, cough, and sore throat.

A viral cold may not have those symptoms but sometimes a sore throat and cough can occur with a viral cold.

The last stage of a cold virus is usually mucus discharge from your nose which can be yellow, white or green in color which is normal.

Not everyone has the mucus when a cold virus is ending but most people do have the mucus.

Some cold viruses may need antibiotics to treat while other cold viruses just need time to go away.

Some signs that a cold virus is going away are mucus discharge from your nose that may be the colors of white, yellow, or green.

Lingering cold symptoms can last up to 2 weeks in some people, especially cold symptoms such as a runny nose, stuffy nose, and coughing.

Most cold viruses last for 7 to 10 days which is a week to almost 2 weeks.

However some strains of the cold virus may last up to 14 days which is 2 weeks.

If your cold virus lasts longer than 2 weeks then it could be more serious and you might want to see a doctor.

The reason you should see a doctor if the cold virus lasts longer than 2 weeks or seems to get worse is because in some cases a cold virus can lead to Pneumonia.

The Pneumonia can be a serious health issue which can kill you.

But most cold viruses are just annoying and not serious enough to need to see a doctor about.

Most times when I have a cold virus the cold virus lasts for 7 days but I've had a cold virus last 15 days before.

Just make sure to get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water, orange juice etc and the cold virus should be over within within a few weeks at most.

Sometimes you might get a cold virus soon after you get over one which is also normal.
