Uneven tire wear can be fixed but to fix uneven tire wear you need to find out what is causing the uneven tire wear.

A good tire shop or mechanic should be able to tell what is causing the uneven tire wear by looking at the way the tires are wearing out unevenly.

The cause of excessive tire wear can be a number of different things.

The most common causes of uneven tire wear are improper alignment, overinflation, underinflation or a worn out suspension including the struts, shocks and springs.

Bad wheel bearings is also another cause of uneven tire wear.

Yes bad wheel bearings can cause uneven tire wear.

If your tire is wearing out on one side or is cupping it could be a sign of a bad wheel bearing or even a misalignment.

The cause of the tire wear depends on what kind of tire wear you're experiencing.

Look and see if your tire is leaning outwards as that can be a sign of a bad wheel bearing that needs replacing.

Tires that wear on the outside is usually caused by a misalignment or bad shocks or struts.

Your wheel may also be leaning outwards due to a bad wheel bearing or something else causing it.

Tire wear on the outside though is an indicator that something is not right with your vehicle and you should have it checked out.

Jack your vehicle up and try moving the wheel back and forth by hand and if there is any movement then it may be a bad wheel bearing that needs replaced.

Bad wheel bearings typically make a grinding noise when they go bad but not always.

I would make sure the wheels are also aligned and a good alignment shop can do that as well.

The cause of a tire going bald in the middle of the tread is over inflation of the tire.

Too much air in a tire can cause the tire to wear out faster in the middle and cause the tire to become bald in the middle.

Over inflating tires can also lead to tire blowouts as well.

When putting air in tires you want to put only the maximum amount of air in your tires that is recommended by the tire.

You can look on the sidewall of the tire and see what the maximum tire pressure should be and it's usually between 40 PSI to 55 PSI.

If you put too much air in your tires you should release some of that air.

Having too my air pressure in your tires cause the contact patch of the tires to shrink and the center of tire to take most of the load.

That then leads to bald tires in the middle.

If the tire pressure is too low the tires tread wear on the edges of the tire will typically indicate inflation pressures are lower than specified.
