Yes you can recycle LED bulbs at Home Depot.

Even LED Christmas Lights can be recycled by taking them to home depot and they may even give you a discount off the new purchase of LED bulbs or LED Christmas Lights too.

Lowe's also takes LED bulbs and LED Christmas Lights for Recycling.

Lowe's does offer light bulb recycling in their stores.

You can recycle LED Light Bulbs as well as CFL Bulbs, Rechargeable Batteries, Plastic Bags and Plastic Plant Pots at Lowe's Stores.

Your Lowe's Store should have a recycle bin for those items usually near the front door and you just put the LED light bulb in the appropriate recycle bin.

Lowe's accepts the LED bulbs and other bulbs and recyclable items free of charge and will recycle them appropriately.

Some disadvantages of LED lights are the LED lights can sometimes cast a glare or seem dimmer in a house or building than incandescent light bulbs.

Other disadvantages of LED lights are the disposal of the LED lights, the hazardous waste to make them such as mercury etc.

LED lights are not really any better for the environment than regular bulbs as it takes more resources to make the LED bulbs than it does to make a regular light bulb.

When you need to dispose of LED light bulbs it can be hard to do since not a whole lot of recycling places are available for LED bulbs.

However Homedepot or Lowe's or other hardware stores may take the LED bulbs for recycling.

Or look online as some companies will pay for shipping and you ship the LED bulbs to them for recycling.

Also check with your town, city etc as they may have a recycling program available for the LED bulbs or other hazardous waste.

LED light bulbs are hazardous waste when they need to be disposed of.

If you have LED bulbs that are no longer good then you should dispose of the LED bulbs through recycling them if possible.

Some Home Depots will take LED light bulbs for recycling and they may even give you a discount on the new LED bulbs you buy.

Or check online as some places will buy them from you or at least take them for free.

Only dispose of the LED bulb in the trash if it's your last resort.

LED bulbs contain mercury and other hazardous waste.

LED light bulbs are not really better for the environment than incandescent light bulbs.

Although LED light bulbs use less electricity when used they are still bad for the environment because it takes energy to manufacture them, ship them etc.

LED light bulbs also use other hazardous materials to make than regular light bulbs do.

It's also harder to dispose of LED bulbs than the regular light bulbs too.

LED bulbs are supposed to last 10 to 20 years but I've yet to have an LED bulb last longer than a couple years.

Still as cheap as they are now it's not a problem if they only last 2 years for me.

The savings alone in energy cost when using the LED bulb pays for the light bulb a few times over.

When LED bulbs are disposed of improperly then they can cause harm to the environment by leeching chemicals into the soil.
