If your house has galvanized pipes for water and drain lines then they likely need replaced as they usually last only 50 years.
But with the new PVC or Pex water piping it should last 100 years or more. The brass fittings on the PEX water piping however may only last 20 years before corroding and breaking off.
You should inspect the brass fittings on the PEX piping and if they're getting corroded you should replace them.
With the PVC piping it should last for 100 years or more unless the PVC piping freezes and bursts.
