Engine Sludge usually occurs as a result of not changing your oil often enough or not getting your vehicles engine up to operating temperature.

Driving short distances such as just in town or maybe 5 or 10 miles one way is usually not long enough to really get the engine up to the proper operating temperature.

This can result in engine sludge and moisture in the engine oil.

Short drives are worse for vehicles than longer drives.

If you use regular oil in your vehicle then you need to change your oil and oil filter every 3,000 to 5,000 miles which will prevent the engine sludge.

With Synthetic Oil you can usually go 10,000 miles before needing an oil change.

Once you get engine sludge the only good way to remove it is to remove the intake and valve covers to clean the engine sludge out.

That requires quite a bit of work so the best thing to do is to prevent the engine sludge in the first place.

Engine Sludge can eventually damage your engine as it can block the oil ports and prevent proper oil flow through your engine.

Full Synthetic Oil can be worth the extra cost for your car or vehicle as the Synthetic Oil does provide protection for your engine and can reduce engine sludge.

Using Full Synthetic Oil in your car or vehicle can also extend the mileage you can go before you need an oil change.

Synthetic Oil also handles higher temperatures and does not thin out as much as regular oil does either.

If your vehicle has over 150,000 miles or more than using synthetic oil can help extend the life of your engine as long as you change the oil and oil filter as often as required.

With Synthetic Oil you can usually go up to 10,000 miles or even 15,000 miles before an oil change is needed.

With regular oil you would usually need to change your oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.

Most people drive 10,000 to 20,000 miles per year so the extra cost in buying the more expensive synthetic oil could save you some money and protect your vehicle.
