Car insurance is usually a bit more expensive for older females than it is for males.

However for young males the car insurance is usually about 14 percent more expensive than a females car insurance.

Young teen male drivers are more likely to want to use their car or vehicle as a hot rod and drag race because they think it's the cool thing to do.

That can then get them into auto wrecks and could injure themselves, someone else or even kill themselves or someone else.

So auto insurance is more expensive for young male drivers than it is for young female drivers.

The average cost for car insurance for a 17 year old male ranges from $3,000.00 to as much as $5,000.00 per year.

The actual cost of the car insurance for the 17 year old male depends on the state you live in and the value of the car and whether or not you have the 17 year old male on your auto insurance as a parent or if the 17 year old male has the car insurance on their own policy.

The car insurance for the 17 year old male on their own will be more in cost than if the car insurance were added to the parents insurance policy.

As a new driver your car insurance costs will be higher until you get older and get above 21 years old and have a good clean driving record.

It's a given that most 17 year old males and new teen drivers that are male will like to hot rod, drag race and may get into a car accident.

So that is one reason males car insurance is usually higher when they are new drivers.

Taking a drivers ed course or completely an exam at your car insurance place can sometimes lower the teens car insurance rates.
