Some signs of your throat closing up are tightness of the throat, having trouble breathing, gasping for air and you may also feel like there's a tight band around your neck that is getting tighter and tighter.

Other common signs of your throat closing up are tenderness, pressure and pain in the throat as well as a lump in the throat and feeling that your throat muscles are locked.

You may also have a swollen throat that you can usually notice on the outside of your neck.

If you feel like your throat is closing up you should see a doctor or go to the emergency room or urgent care.

Rarely does a throat closing up mean that you're gonna die but it's better to get checked out anyway.

Sometimes when you're suffering from anxiety you may feel like your throat is closing up.

If the tightness in your throat goes away and only comes when you're suffering from anxiety or a panic attack then it's usually nothing to worry about.

But if it continues and you're not suffering from anxiety then seek medical attention to be safe.
