The way scallops reproduce is the male scallops release sperm into the water and the females release eggs into the water too.

Then the eggs and sperm in the water come into contact with each other and then baby scallops are produced.

Scallops reproduce when the water cools during the fall months which is when they release the eggs and sperm into the water.

Scallops do not have any feelings because the scallops do not have brains.

To be able to have feelings you need to have a brain to process those feelings but since scallops have no brains the scallops cannot and do not have any feelings.

Although scallops may be able to feel a tingling sensation when cut or killed they do not feel the same pain as humans and other animals do when cut or hurt because they do not have the brain.

The scallops have nerves but no central nervous system.

Yes you can eat the orange bit of the scallop.

The orange bit of the scallop is often thrown out when cooking the scallop but the orange bit in the scallop which is called the roe of the scallop is edible.

It's a matter of personal taste and preference as to whether or not you want to eat the roe of the scallop or throw it out.

I prefer to throw the roe out and eat the rest of it's edible.

You can eat the yellow part of the scallop if you want too.

The yellow part of the scallop is called the roe which is edible but has a stronger taste than the scallop meat but it compliments the regular scallop meat.

It's a personal preference as to whether or not you want to eat the roe or yellow part of the scallop.

A good way to tell if and when a scallop or scallops are fully cooked is to look for a change in color.

The scallop or scallops are fully cooked once the scallop is opaque in color.

If the scallop is not opaque in color then they need cooked a bit longer.

Scallops usually take around 4 to 5 minutes to fully cook in a skillet.

Cook the scallop for around 2 minutes on each side until the scallop becomes opaque in color.

Scallops are not Vegan because Vegans do not eat living things.

Although vegetables are also living things which vegans eat as well.

But if you're a vegan then you cannot or should not eat Scallops because you'll be going against your Vegan Lifestyle.

The part of the scallop that is most often eaten is the adductor muscle that opens and closes the shell.

Scallops have two shells and you can also eat the reproductive organs, or roe which are all edible but not everyone eats those parts.

Most people just eat those adductor muscles that allow the shell to open and close and then throw the rest away.

But if you prefer to eat the rest of the scallop you certainly can.

Scallops also are bivalve mollusks which means the scallops have two shells.

A scallop is any one of numerous species of saltwater clams or marine bivalve mollusks in the taxonomic family Pectinidae, the scallops.
