When a child does not like loud noises it could be that the child has autism.

Children and even teen and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can be oversensitive or undersensitive to noise, light, clothing or temperature.

Their senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste can take in either too much or too little information from the environment around them.

There are more than one level of autism and some kids and even adults have a higher functioning of autism and may seem normal in other ways.

But when it comes to being around sound such as loud noises, other kids playing etc it can be hard for the child or even adult to deal with those noises.

My brother has a higher functioning of autism and he cannot tolerate loud noises that we see as normal and harmless.

If he hears kids hollering and playing then he has to put ear plugs in or noise canceling headphones on to get rid of the noise.

He's always been that way and was diagnosed with a higher functioning of autism as well as Asperger's syndrome.

He also has a hard time keeping eye contact or talking with people even those people he knows.
