A 2 month old baby has the ability to see up to 18 inches in front of it's face.

Anything that is farther away than 18 inches from the 2 month old babies face is difficult if not impossible for the baby to see.

As the baby gets older they can see further and further off as their eyesight improves.

So if you're further away than 18 inches from the baby then he or she cannot see you very good or at all so you have to get at least 18 inches close to the 2 month old baby for them to see and recognize you.

Also if you have toys that you're playing with the baby with then at 2 months old they cannot see the toy very good if it's even a few inches further than 18 inches away from the babies face.

The babies eyesight will improve though as the baby gets older and as they get to 1 year old they can see pretty good.

Then you don't have to be as close to the baby for them to see you.
