The blood coming out of your nose when you have a cold could be due to a blood vessel rupturing in your nose when you blow it. The blood vessel in your nose can also rupture from dry air.

Blood in your snot can also be caused by a virus infection and is normal when you have a cold. It happens to me sometimes and after awhile the blood goes away once the cold is over.
