Baking soda will melt snow when you sprinkle baking soda on the snow.

You can also prevent snow from forming on sidewalks, concrete driveways, asphalt driveways etc as well by putting baking soda on them before the snowfalls.

The baking soda works like salt which lowers the freezing point for the ice which helps the snow melt faster and also helps the ice melt before it is able to freeze to solid.

Salt is the best thing to melt snow and ice but if you just have some baking soda that can also work as well.

You can also use a propane torch flamethrower to melt snow off of driveways and sidewalks which works great and is better than shoveling the surface.

I've used a torch flame thrower with a big propane bottle to melt the the snow and ice off of my driveway and sidewalk and it's faster and more fun that way.

But baking soda will work on melting snow and ice.
