Yes battery corrosion can ruin electronics especially if you do not clean the corrosion off the connections where the batteries are placed.

To prevent battery corrosion in electronics or other battery powered devices make sure to remove any dead batteries from the toys or electronics as soon as they go dead.

The longer you leave dead batteries in the electronics the faster it will corrode and eventually the electronics will be ruined.

The Corrosion can eat away at the wires and battery terminals in the electronics so make sure to clean any corrosion from the battery compartments as soon as possible.

You can take an old tooth brush and dip the tooth brush into some baking soda and water and then brush the battery compartment and battery terminals with the baking soda.

That will help dissolve the corrosion and make it easier to wipe it out of the battery compartment.
