How much interest does 1 million dollars earn per year?

If someone has 1 million dollars in the bank in a savings account how much interest would that 1 million dollars earn in a savings account per year?

Assuming the interest being earned from the savings account is say 5% you would earn $50,000.00 per year on that 1 million dollars.
