How long until a business becomes profitable?

How many years does take for an offline type business such as a convenience store to become profitable?

I'm thinking of trying to get a loan to buy a local convenience store but I'm wondering how long should I have to wait for the business to actually become profitable?

It depends on the location your business is in and how many customers you have.

If you're in a real busy location it can take you 2 years to become profitable and if in a less trafficked area your business could take as long as 10 years to see a good profit from your offline business.

just want to ask if anyone here turned profitable faster than expected? I'm curious how much a good niche and low overhead can speed things up. Also wondering how much personal time most of you had to put in before seeing real growth. I’m debating jumping into something small but time-heavy and could use some fresh takes.

I broke even around the two-year mark, but only after cutting a lot of costs and doing most of the work myself. It really depends on how lean you run things early on.
