Can you potty train a child while they are still in a crib?

You can potty train a child why they are still sleeping in a crib but it can be harder for the child to be able to go potty.

Since the child can have a hard time getting out of the crib on their own to go to the toilet it can be difficult for the child to grasp potty training or get to the potty on time if they are in the crib.

I would personally wait until the child is out of the crib and into a toddler bed or regular bed before beginning potty training.

I would keep the child in diapers while in the crib because they will likely wet but if the child sleeps through the night you can work on potty training in the day and keep them in diapers at night.

Although a child may be potty trained in the daytime some children may continue wetting the bed at night and need to wear a diaper for awhile.

It's not uncommon for a child to still wear a diaper to bed until they are 8 to 13 years old.

A child still in a crib can still be potty trained during the day when they are not in the crib.

At night it's best to just keep the child in a diaper while in the crib and let them sleep and wet the diaper instead.

I personally though would also wait until I moved the child from the crib to their own regular bed and then begin potty training as it's so much easier.

Also most children will potty train on their own and will stop wearing diapers.

My own 4 year old boy decided a few weeks after his 4th birthday that he wanted to use the toilet and refused to be put into another diaper.

I tried potty training before that but it was a struggle so I just stopped potty training and he went on his own when he was ready.

Personally if a child cannot pull their pants up and down or go to the toilet without help or wipe their butt then they really are not ready to potty train and should be wearing diapers.

Your child is only little for a short while so enjoy them in diapers.
