Toothpaste does work on cold sores to get rid of the cold sores.
The toothpaste helps dry out the cold sore which makes the cold sore go away much sooner than it would otherwise.
Toothpaste that contains baking soda works much better at getting rid of cold sores but any toothpaste will work to get rid of your cold sore.
You can also use ice, apple cider vinegar, hydrogen peroxide etc to get rid of cold sores.
I've used toothpaste to get rid of my cold sores and it works great.
Just dab a little toothpaste on your cold sore and allow it to sit there for 20 or so minutes or just leave it on and then reapply some more toothpaste after a few hours or so.
