Yes you can eat the first egg a chicken lays.

There's nothing wrong with the egg that the chicken first lays and you can safely eat it.

When you're raising chickens for eggs make sure to get the eggs soon enough or sometimes the chickens themselves will eat them.

During hot weather make sure to collect the eggs soon because the heat can spoil the eggs.

You may want to check on the eggs and collect them more than once per day if they are gonna lay eggs.

Chickens who lay eggs will usually only produce and lay eggs for up to 3 years of it's life.

Although chickens will usually live up to 8 years if they are not slaughtered but as the chicken gets to 3 years old and above the chickens egg laying diminishes.

And eventually the chicken may not lay anymore eggs at all.

When my Grandma had chickens the chickens would lay eggs really good until they reached 3 years of age.

Then after that they would get slaughtered for the chicken meat.

Most chickens lay their eggs around noon.

When it comes to chickens laying eggs in the day the chickens will usually lay their eggs within 6 hours after the sunrises.

So the actual time the chickens will lay their eggs in the day will also depend on what time the sunrises during that day.

But you can usually expect the chicken to lay eggs at least by 12:00 PM or even 3:00 PM.

Most chickens will have laid their eggs by 3:00 PM at the latest.

However on my Grandmas Farm when I was a kid her chickens would sometimes lay their eggs by 8:00 AM and then some days it would not be until 12:00 PM and sometimes as late as 3:00 PM.

Also sometimes some chickens may not even lay eggs every single day but some do.
