When going camping make sure to check the weather forecast a week beforehand and keep checking the weather forecast everyday up until you're camping day when you get ready to go camping.

If there is gonna be severe weather during those days try to wait until another day when the storms are not gonna be happening.

However if you're already out camping and there's a severe weather storm coming then keep check on the weather through use of a radio, your laptop, phone, tablet etc.

If it's just high wind and rain stay in your tent or camper trailer or RV.

However if there's a tornado coming you want to seek shelter elsewhere.

Some places you can seek shelter from a tornado are a low lying ditch, vault toilet, dumpster if possible or if you can leave before the tornado is coming then do so.

Also use a waterproof plastic ground cloth inside your tent.

My husband, me and my kids go camping but do so mostly in a travel trailer and we keep an eye on the forecast and if there's gonna be a severe thunderstorm or a possible tornado the next day or coming soon then we leave and go home if possible and then come back later when the weather is nicer out.

Hello. It depends on what exactly weather. Usually I check accurate weather forecast before camping! But even if the weather is bad you can rest with necessary equipment and tools. You should be ready for any situation. I can recommend to read 99camping site, there are many useful articles! Recently I found best hammock bug net here.
