Luvs diapers are very absorbent and you can usually go between 4 hours to even 6 hours between diaper changes depending on the age of the baby or toddler.

Younger babies will pee and poop more often and will need changed every 2 to 3 hours but sometimes as the baby gets to 2 years old and above they may only pee every 2 to 3 hours and need a diaper change every 3 hours to 6 hours.

Some toddlers need a diaper change every 3 hours in the day but for my 3 year old boy he can go 6 hours between diaper changes.

For example my 3 year old son wears a size 6 Luvs diaper and they are really absorbent and he does not pee that much through the day.

He hold's his pee in and then pees every 3 hours or so and the diaper could take 3 peeing sessions and even more likely.

So he's usually dry for around 3 hours and then pees the diaper and is a little wet.

Then around 3 hours later he pees a second time and then I change him.

So my 3 year old only goes through 2 diapers per day and since Luvs diapers cost me only 24 cents per diaper it costs me 48 cents per day to keep him diapered.

I'd rather diaper him than deal with potty training and he does not seem to mind being in the diapers and he'll decide when he wants to potty train.

At that many diapers it costs me only around $15.00 per month at most for diapers as I buy the 104 size box for $25.00 at Walmart and a box of those Luvs last over a month for him.

I usually grab 2 boxes though when I'm at Walmart and they have enough of them in stock.

The Luvs are also good for holding up on road trips with the 3 year old.

I do not change my kids diaper when there's nothing in them.

For example if I change my 3 year old sons diaper about an hour before a bath and his diaper is still clean and has no pee in it or poop in it then I put the diaper aside.

Then after I bathe him before bed I just put the same diaper back on him.

It's a waste to throw a diaper away that is not even wet or dirty.

Some toddlers may go 2 or 3 hours without wetting the diaper which can be normal especially if they are older than 1 year old.

Sometimes toddlers go pee every 1 hour to every 2 hours which is also normal.

Sometimes my 3 year old does not need a diaper change until 6 hours later depending on how much he drinks.

The more he drinks the more he pees and the more often his diapers need changed.

When he was 2 he would go through 3 to 4 diapers per day and now that he's 3 he's holding his pee more and then letting it out when he's ready and has a full bladder.

So most days now my 3 year old only goes through 2 diapers per day unless he poops.

I wait until the diaper is full of pee before changing him because the diapers hold the pee away from his skin anyway and it's always a battle to change his diaper.
