Yes in some places it's illegal to push snow out into the street.

If you live in a small town then you're unlikely to get into trouble for pushing snow out into the street.

However in larger cities and towns you could get a fine for pushing snow out into the street.

If you have snow that you're shoveling from your driveway or sidewalk you should place it to the side of the ground or onto the ground on the other side of the sidewalk.

Avoid placing the snow out into the street because it makes it harder for people to drive through it and it also makes more work for the snow plow drivers to clear the snow from the street.

After the snow has been removed from the street you might be able to put the snow onto the curb which will then melt off but not make it difficult for people to drive through.

The fine for pushing snow out into the street can vary but it's costly and can be as much as $200.00 to $500.00 depending on the location.
