There are big cats in South Carolina but not many other types of big cats.

The only big cat in South Carolina is the Bobcat which is the only Big Cat you will see in South Carolina.

Bobcats are a pretty friendly cat as long as you leave them alone and do not seem like a threat to them.

I've been camping in areas where Bobcats are and they never have bothered me.

But still the Bobcat could be dangerous so just make sure to avoid them as much as possible and they will leave you alone.

There used to be a lot of big cats roaming around South Carolina many years ago but they have mostly gone extinct in South Carolina due to hunting of the big cats.

There still are several other big cats in other states and locations but not much of them in South Carolina.
