When my brother was 5 he would rather be occupied by being outside and running around and not be occupied by a parent all the time.
Back then there was no issue with letting him run around town at 5 years old but now you cannot really do that.
However you can still send your 5 year old boy outside or take the 5 year old boy to the park if possible and let him burn off some of that energy.
Also look online and see if there are any other parks, events etc or other educational places that you can take your 5 year old boy too.
Most 5 year old boys love to be outdoors and climb trees so maybe allow your 5 year old boy to climb trees or go for a bike ride with your 5 year old boy.
It's great to get outdoors instead of being cooped up in the house all the time.
However here is a list of some other things that you can do to occupy your 5 year old boy.
Create a game box. Fill a box full of things your child can play with alone things like coloring books, playing cards, or easy puzzles.
Have them make their own cartoon.
Let them help you.
Give them an important mission.
Generate an idea box.
Offer creative toys.
Design a treasure hunt.
Let them play outside.
Put a good movie on or put some old classic cartoons on such as Bugs Bunny.
