It takes around 20 to 30 minutes to get an echocardiogram done.

The actual echocardiogram does not take very long however the test results can take around 24 to 48 hours to get the results of the echocardiogram test back.

So you will only be in the echocardiogram room for around 30 minutes at most.

When I went in for my echocardiogram the echocardiogram took only 20 minutes from start to finish.

But then I had to wait around 2 days to get the echocardiogram test results back.

Around 5 to 10 minutes of the time is preparing and positioning the patient for the echocardiogram and the other 15 to 20 minutes of time is spent on acquiring the relevant images of the heart.

You will likely spend more time in the waiting room waiting to be ready for the echocardiogram to take place but then again some people don't have to wait too long in the waiting room.
