Most quail will sit on their eggs for at least 3 weeks or until the quail eggs hatch.
Quail eggs typically hatch within 3 weeks of the quail laying the quail eggs and the mother quail and the father quail will take care of the baby quail once they hatch.
However the mother quail does all the sitting on the quail eggs for at least 3 weeks until the quail eggs hatch into baby quails.
The mother quail may sometimes get up off the quail eggs for awhile to take a break and go potty and eat but then the mother quail usually returns again to sit on the quail eggs.
The mother quail does not always have to sit on the quail eggs for them to hatch but the mother quail will sit on the quail eggs often enough so that they stay warm enough.
A quail can lay up to 12 to 16 eggs at a time and those eggs should hatch within 3 weeks and sometimes sooner or sometimes a bit later.
