The purpose of a diaper is to absorb urine and catch poop from babies and toddlers who are not potty trained.

The diaper has been around for many years but disposable diapers were invented around 70 years ago but they were not as advanced as today's disposable diapers.

The disposable diaper catches pee and absorbs it to keep it away from the babies or toddlers skin.

The diaper also contains the poop to prevent it from getting onto the kids pants, bedding, furniture or running down their legs.

Although most commonly babies and toddlers wear diapers mostly the diapers are also made for adults or older kids and teens who also may need diapers.

Some people past potty training age are urinary incontinent or fecal incontinent and require diapers to keep their pants dry and prevent them from messing their pants.

Also some kids, teens and adults wet the bed at night and diapers are good for catching the pee and absorbing the pee to keep the child's bed dry and clothing dry.
